CADET OF THE YEAR PRESENTATION REPORT
Washington 11 May 2011
The ceremony for the annual presentation by the Air Squadron to the USAF Cadet of the Year took place this week at the Pentagon in the Chief of Staff's personal conference suite. This award was first granted in 2000.
The recipient was Cadet 1st class Christopher McCool and the award placed him at the top of 1,051 other cadets. His citation reflected across the broad excellence and a Scholar-Warrior-Athlete mentality. For all his ability, he is also relaxed, personable, self confident and has a sense of humour. He is now moving on to a two year post graduate economics degree at Harvard before starting pilot training.
The ceremony is afforded high priority and was attended by a full complement of US Air Staff:
Hon. Michael Donley, Secretary of the Air Force
General Norton Schwartz, Chief of Staff
General Phil Breedlove, Vice Chief of Staff
Lt Gen Dick Newton, Assistant Vice Chief of Staff
Lt Gen Richard Harding, The Judge Advocate General
The Hon. Daniel Ginsberg, Asst' Sec' of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve affairs
The Hon. Terry Yonkers, Asst' Sec' of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics
